Born in Germany, Julia spent her childhood in a little hillside village in Portugal, surrounded by artists and artisans.  "My mother was an artist and our neighbours were weavers, silk painters, potters and other arts and crafts people. To see people working with so much dedication in their creative field left a great impression on me and I always knew that the world of creativity was my world too" 

Julia moved to London, studied Architecture at the Architectural Association, where her love for the arts and design was reinforced. "There is something incredibly empowering to know that you can turn your ideas and your imagination into real tangible things." 

After raising three children, her path led her into teaching, where she discovered the joy of passing on her love for making things to her students. From pencil drawings to working with textiles, children thrived when given the attention and time to develop their own creation.

This is why Julia founded ART STARS. A supportive and inspiring environment where children have heaps of time to explore all sorts of different art making techniques, experiment to work with new materials and dive into their own creative endeavour.
